PSFH Overview

The Focus of My Practice

What I do in my practice of medicine is to educate and exhort my patients is to do everything – everyday – to keep the body healthy. The Paradigm Shift for Health program was developed to do more than educate and exhort – it adds an additional component of hands on experience to help people make the shift. There are many people in the community (health coaches, psychologists, counselors, therapists, cooks, etc.) who have skills to help people shift to healthy behaviors and that is part of Paradigm Shift for Health.

To fulfill the educational component of the Paradigm Shift for Health program, PSFH classes are offered throughout the year and are included in the Direct Primary Care (DPC) membership. I will be happy if the education and hands-on experience provided in my classes, together with the development of a support system, gets people to change and improve their life.

PSFH classes cover a variety of topics such as:

  • Cardiovascular Disease
  • Behavioral Changes to Avoid Cancer
  • Benefits of an Ideal Body Weight
  • Osteoarthritis/Osteoporosis
  • The Type 2 Diabetes Epidemic
  • Fasting
  • Dementia

You can attend all or only those classes that interest you.

PSFH Class Information

Each 1.5 hour class will focus on the health topic (slide presentation) with time for questions and discussion afterwards. A light plant-based snack will be provided at each class.

Classes will begin at 6:30 pm on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month and are held at the Foothills Family Care office at 1032 Luke Street, Suite 1.

Class registration includes a light snack and handout materials. We would appreciate a cancellation notice at least 24 hours prior to class to allow for others to attend.

For my Direct Primary Care members, class registration is included in your membership. My Medicare/Medicaid patients will have their insurance billed and will be responsible for any co-pay or deductible.

For non-patients the registration fee will be $15.
